2018 Was A Very Good Year

I have been blogging, off and on, for 14 years and it wasn’t until I took Connie Ragen’s class “Really Simple Authority Blogging,” in the spring of 2018, that the lights went on and I realized the importance of blogging and that I was sitting on a treasure trove of stories that I had written over the years.

After searching the bowels of my files, in my computer, I discovered I had 347 blogs collecting dust. I felt like The Raiders of The Lost Treasure.

That’s correct 347.

In my book, that’s almost like winning the lottery!

Unfortunately, I failed to save the comments that I had previously received.

By now you are probably saying … So What.

The importance of this treasure trove is mighty for folks like me who write short stories.

If you have never heard of “repurposing” it is an awesome tool that can be used to dust off your documents and re-publish the stories.

So here I am again, re-inventing myself, re-engaging, creating a new audience and I have the ‘battle scars” to show for it.

In September of 2018 I joined the forces of “Medium,” a platform for sharing and publishing my stories. I committed to writing five stories per week for a year. Of which some of these stories will be ones that I mentioned earlier.

So what is different this time?

· I am focused

· I have a vision and

· A desire to reach out and share my stories and help those that I meet.

In 2018, I have accomplished the following:

· Set-up my blog https://boomersembracingchanges

· Written 70 articles and posted them on Medium

· One of my stories, “If Only Syndrome — Are You Suffering From It?” Made the “Reading List” on November 5, 2018

· Posted “Not Everyone Will Join You” to Noteworthy — The Journal Blog

· Plotted out my stories for the remainder of 2018 and the first two weeks of 2019, and

· Am working on the rough draft of my second book to be released in 2019.

To say the least, 2018 has been a busy year and I am looking forward to 2019.

Life is very exciting.
