Do you know who are the most important contacts in your database?
Database or Contact List
Where you save your list of the most important contacts you have doesn’t matter. Nor does what classification they fall into, i.e., finance, accounting, marketing company, new leads and list goes on and on.
In chatting with some of my colleagues most have them on their cell phones or e-mail lists but very few of them keep them under a specific group(s).
Regardless of how you have them categorized, your current customers should be top of mind. These are the folks you should keep apprised of new products, your star performers, and your accomplishments.
Yes, your accomplishments.
Without the support of your current customers you are nothing.
Have you ever heard the saying “it is easier to stay in contact with your current customers than it is to constantly be shopping for new people?”
I am always hearing how entrepreneurs are spending money, big money, to find new customers. It seems that most people who have large marketing budgets are always spending it on ways to find new people.
Why not spend that money on past customers and bring them back into the fold?
Hello! Nothing like throwing the baby out to save the bath water.
So, how about if we try this scenario?
Since your existing customers are less expensive to market to and 9 times out 10, they will buy more from you because they like and trust you, and they can become your raving fans that refer business to you.
Making sure this is not included in your marketing strategy is a fatal mistake.
Likewise, be sure to include how you are going to re-engage and stay in touch with your past customers.
Lastly, do you have a Client Retention and Engagement Strategy?
Give it some thought and include it in your next update of your Marketing Plan.
Having fun building relationships with your clients while building your list will increase your bottom line.
In order be successful you must have the proper mindset and tools.
