I attended a webinar yesterday and picked up several lead generation tips & tricks that work. Below are a few of the ones I am adding to my marketing and wanted to share with you.

Trick #1 — Use what is available to you. Watch OPWs (Other People’s Webinars) and write down tidbits and advertise/post them on your Social Media sites, i.e., Twitter, blog posts, etc.

Trick# 2 — Attend networking events in your local area and get as many biz cards as you can without pitching your business. Then follow up with them the next day on the phone. Say something like:

“Hey, I picked up your business card @ (whatever the event was) & with all of the attendees there, I didn’t get a lot of time to chat with you. Would you be open to a side project if there was something in it for you?”

If yes, set-up an appointment/call and add them to your Contact Relationship Manager (CRM) and be sure to add notes as you build the relationship. If no, thank them and ask for their permission to check back with them at a later date.

NOTE: I always enter them into my CRM and send them a card thanking them for taking time out of their busy schedule to chat with me, and follow-up with holiday cards or thinking of you notes.

Also, if during the event you get a chance to do a “60-second elevator pitch” about your business you could include something like “I’m looking for 5-partners to work with me on a side project. If you are interested please give me your biz card.”

Trick #3Grab Em. Many times we go into a store, restaurant, dry cleaners, etc. and they have a bulletin board with OPBC’s (Other Peoples Biz Cards) advertising their services. “Grab Em” and leave yours behind.

Call them, tell them where you got their card/information and say something like “Not sure where I found your card, but would you be open to a side project if there was something in it for you?” Once again, add them to your CRM and stay in contact with them.

When you integrate these online marketing tricks into your business you will have more contacts to send your newsletter/blog, etc.
