Lesson I Learned From My First Presentation
I am sharing this event because I can remember it like it was yesterday.
Stage Fright.
In the spring of 1982, I was working for a defense contractor and was required to give a major presentation to 30 people that included Presidents of several major companies and Government representative that were associated with the contract I was working on.
In this presentation, I delivered information on how the Integrated Logistics Support Department (ILS) and its Vendors were going to support a major build out of heavy equipment for the Army. This support included technical manuals, spare parts allocation, training aids and training of personnel.
Even though I had practiced many times, in preparation for this event, I was scared out of my mind.
As I stood in front of the audience I had sweaty palms, my heart was pounding and I froze up. What an embarrassing event.
After a couple of seconds, which seemed like a life time, someone in the back of the room, turned the lights down, I remembered why I was there and continued on. It was a success, but what an experience.
When I think back on this experience I recall the things I have learned since then and through my experiences. They are three basic principles:
· Think
· Learn and
· Share
These experiences prepared me for my future in Networking Marketing.
