I’m in the process of reading Napoleon Hill’s book “Positive Action Plan — 365 Meditations for Making Each Day a Success” and every day I walk away with a brighter outlook on life and my business.

You come to a certain point in your life where money ceases to be a motivator and that money is only one of the many considerations. At that point, you should have a heart-to-heart discussion with yourself and determine is you would continue doing what you are doing even if it did not pay well. I have asked myself this same question several times in my life. I always seem to come up with the same response. “It’s not about the money, it is how I can help others and provide value to them.” The value may be in several different forms, i.e., having a positive attitude about life, sharing with them alternate ways to make money, extending a hand to let them know you are their friend if they need to talk to someone you are there to listen and the list goes on.

I for one, have had several jobs that I really did not know much about it and knew the pay was not what I was really looking for, but I looked at it as a way to expand my knowledge and if it was meant to be something that allowed me to grow as a person and allow me to provide value to someone else and let the cards fall where they may, I would end up a better person.

No matter what I do, I am working because I like to work and am providing value to the company I am working for and the people I have surrounded myself with. Anyone who has a robust positive attitude about what they do and can offer to others will reap the benefits tenfold in the end.
