Last week I was at my favorite office supply store looking for a 2019 calendar and planner. What a shock that was. I could not believe how expensive they had become and found myself rationalizing as to whether it was really worth the expense.

Even with these attributes available on my cell phone, desktop and Internet I still love the feel and security that all my appointments and special notes are in one location.

Low and behold, in our Sunday local newspaper was an article by Christopher Mele of The New York Times, on just this very subject. He went on to tell, despite the digital revolution, the hard copy of the planner and calendar are very much alive, “the demand has increased.

It is no longer a question of “either or but, they can “coexist.”

Why is there still such a demand?

Personalization. The consumer can now customize a planner to fit their style with accessories, colors and even color code events and activities. Like books, they both can thrive in our digital era and demand is still there.

In addition, the demand for “promotional calendars,” as distributed for real estate agents, car repair shops, etc. are still in demand and the most common place you find these, in a home, is on the refrigerator for to see and where family members can add their own information. I, have three calendars, one on my desk, one on my smart phone and one on my refrigerator.

Do you still use a paper calendar? Did today’s post help you? I’d love to hear from you and I would appreciate it if you comment below.

See you at the top!
