Reverse Bucket List — Do You Have One?
A what? Yes, you read that correctly — “A Reverse Bucket List.”
I was reading an article today by Nora Dunn and in her article she talks about what is a reverse bucket list, what importance it has, etc. and it struck a strong chord with me.
In 2007, Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson stared in the movie “Bucket List,” and they talked about all the things they wanted to do before they died. It was a real hoot.
Basically, a reverse bucket list is just the opposite of a bucket list; It’s a list of all the things you did in your life. Preparing your reverse bucket list is a reflection and gratitude of your life.
With this list you include all the things you’ve accomplished, things that made you feel proud or sad, etc.
Nora Dunn states “although a bucket list can be motivational, I believe that in and of itself it can be more crippling then empowering. In order for a bucket list to reach its true potential I think we should first start with a “Reverse Bucket List.”
So, what exactly is a “Reverse Bucket List? It is a creative way of reflecting what you’ve accomplished in your life ~ good, bad and the ugly. This list is not something to think lightly of, so be thorough.
